Lower Back Chronic Pain Where Kidney Is Located

lower back chronic pain where kidney is located
Kindly asked for some more information related to the pain
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for asking at "Ask a Doctor" service.
Lower back at the kidney area can be due to several causes, most of the time due to muscles in the area and rarely from kidney problems or problems with the lungs, etc.
It is important for us to have some more information related to the pain to better understand the cause of it. I would kindly ask you to answer the following questions:
- for how long is the pain there?
- does it stay in one place or does it radiate in the areas around?
- what makes it worse or what makes it better?
- is it affected by certain movements, touch or breathing?
- any other symptoms like urinary burning or frequency, cough, fever, bowel problems?
- is the pain there at night or prevents you from sleep?
- have you ever seen a doctor for this pain?
- does advil help with the pain?
- have you had any accident or fall?
- do you have some idea what might be causing the pain?
- any other medical conditions you are diagnosed with or taking treatment for?
If the pain is worse on certain movements or if you touch the area very likely this is due to a muscular strain in the area. If the pain is associated with urinary symptoms a kidney problem can be considered. If cough makes the pain worse then probably it is muscular or related to the lungs, etc.
The above information will help us better understand so please copy and paste my questions to the reply and answer below each question to make it easy and not miss any question.
I am waiting to hear back from you.
Regards,
Antoneta Zotaj,
