Require further evaluation as there can be multiple causes....
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your query and reviewed attached image. Here is my advice.
There can be multiple causes of leg swelling which should be evaluated.
In case of injury or sprain, I would suggest you to consult with expert orthopedician for detailed medical examination and he may procure scans to rule out fracture or ligament or meniscus injury.
In the absence of injury, it may be due...
1. Thrombophlebitis that causes blood clot to block one or more veins which can be diagnosed with Doppler ultrasound scan.
2. Cellulitis that a bacterial skin infection which may cause swelling, redness and warm to touch.
3. Osteoarthritis may cause joint damage which may cause stiffness, pain and swelling.
So for assessment, I would suggest you to consult with your family physician for detailed medical examination and evaluation. As basic investigations and treatment mainly depends upon the underlying condition.
Till then for pain you can take tablet acetaminophen. Kindly keep leg elevated. Icing may help to reduce swelling.
Hope I have answered your query and let me know if I can assist you further... Thank you.
Regards,
Dr Shyam Kale
