Question: mom 80. was in icu for 3 days. sugers at 750. doing better. hospital doctors put her on insulin. 10 units of lantus in morning. use sliding scale at meal times. suger levels stayed at 250 to 325. I change amounts. give her 29 units of lantus in morning, 3 time a day of nvaloc at 6 units each before meals times. suger numbers now at 150 to 200. Im I giving my mom too much insulin. is too much insulin can do damage o body orgins. going to see the indo doctor dec 13. just concerned at this time.

meant to type in 20 units of lantus in the morning . not 29 units. thanks
in the morning I give my mom. 20 units of lantus in the left arm and 6 units of novaloc in the right arm. is it ok to do that. if yes. then . giving my mom the two shots in the evening. how often to check for sugers. keeping in mind , im trying to cut down on poking her fingers all the time. when is the best time to check for sugers. thanks
