My Arms Have Always Been Filled With Little Bumps As

Question: my arms have always been filled with little bumps as the picture. I have visited some doctors. Some said it is due to dryness, and some said it is due to family inheritage.
The bumpy areas are expanding. when i was a kid, they only appear on my upper arms. Now, they are in my lower arms as well and my legs.
The bumps give me no uncomfortable feelings such as itchy or pain.
I%E2%80%99m wondering what is it? is there any way to relieve this? i have eczema as well.

Brief Answer:
Keratosis pilaris

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask a Doctor Service. I have viewed the image as well as gone through the query and here is my advice.
You seem to have Keratosis Pilaris which is due to keratin plugging of hair follicles with hair trapped/ coiled inside the keratin plug. Often these sites are less hairy and feel like a nutmeg crater or rough.. Most commonly seen and felt on upper outer arms but also on outer things, buttocks. It is common in those who have dry skin. I suggest you to use an exfoliating moisturizer for example, one with glycolic acid or lactic acid as it would help exfoliate keratin plugging. In addition I suggest you to take an oral vitamin A supplement e.g oral retinyl palmitate 25000 - 50000IU for 2-3 months.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you need any more assistance.
