Question: my daughter, 18 years old, has a very severe ear ache . she seen in the er last nighr but sent home after it was determined she did not have an infection. she was told to take 600mg ibuprofen and sudafed. she is in a huge amiunt of pain that the ibuprofen is not relieving. she has taken 800mg. can i give her tylenol or nyquil as well and of so how much

Hello, I'm Dr. Branch, thanks for using Ask a Doctor. Tylenol would be more helpful for her pain, which she can take upto 1 gram (1000 mg) every 6 hours, along with the Ibuprofen (she can take up to 800 mg every 6 hours). You might also be able to find antipyrine-benzocaine ear drops over the counter that can have a pain killer in them that can help as well.
