Detailed Answer:
Hii. Welcome to the health care services. Can you tell the name of the surgery your caught undergo? It seems that she is having hearing loss with tinnitus after surgery. There is no relation between parotid surgery and hearing loss with tinnitus. Parotid gland surgery can lead to weakness of the facial nerve which is responsible for various facial movements. There can be facial weakness after any parotid surgery. But none can lead to hearing loss. So get a hearing test done pure tone audiogram and impedance audiogram to check the exact hearing test. It may happen that the surgery has caused some weakness of some small nerve branches to stapedius muscle which is responsible for movement of ossicles in the ear. Or the thickness of the parotid flap or the remaining parotid tissue may have some vascularity which is responsible for hearing loss. So do a hearing test and make sure that she is having definite hearing loss. If she is having hearing loss due to nerve weakness then it's better to ignore it because it will disappear over time if she doesn't pay heedbto that sound. For now relax and lead a stress free life with less tea, coffee. Dont stay in noiseless area. Sleep with radio on in low volume. Review with the report. Get a usg of parotid area done to know the status of the parotid tissue. Review with the reports and if you have any queries.
