My Daughter Slammed Her Fingers In The Door In December
Question: my daughter slammed her fingers in the door in december there is still purple and bruising under on her middle finger but the nail is fine. her other finger nail is falling off now. will the purple underneath her nail that isnt falling off heal soon?
Brief Answer:
Regarding subungual hematoma
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to ask a doctor service. I have viewed the image and gone through the query.
I can see new nail plate growing from the base of both the fingernails. The bruising/ hematoma underneath the nail as well as the old nail plate should eventually come off. It may take up to 6 months for the nail plate to be replaced so the bruising would persist till the old nail plate falls off.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you need any more assistance.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
I think that should be ok. Somebody can do it for her- can cut the hanging part of nail with a sterile blade or a nail cutter.
Take care.
