Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice
Consolidation and ground glass appearance is one of the most common manifestations of pulmonary infection. It is a non specific finding in radiology that indicates a partial filling of air spaces in the lungs by fluid as well as interstitial thickening or partial collapse of lung alveoli. However consolidations with ground glass appearance that do not disappear in 2 to 4 weeks of antibiotic therapy can oftenbe lung cancer or its precursor lesions. Therefore initially you should be tested for bacterial infection followed by a biopsy of lung tissue.
In simple language a Bochdalek hernia is a by birth abnormality in which an opening exists in the diaphragm(which seperates thorax from abdomen) allowing abdominal organs (particularly the stomach and intestines) to protrude into the thoracic cavity. This could be treated by minor operation.
Hope i was helpful.
