Question: my name is Rosalin Blessing and I have a Sister named XXXXXXX XXXXXXX that recently as recent as August 3rd had her right leg amputated. prior to the amputation, my sister XXXXXXX is a diabetic of the worse kind which I believe because of the severe complication's of her diabetes caused them to have to remove her leg. currently I spoke directly to my Sister XXXXXXX from her bedside who states that she is in severe pain and is refusing Dialysis due to being unable to withstand the severe pain she says she's experiencing from dialysis she says's she not feeling well and blowing up (retaining fluid ) but it too painful and she's in too much pain to have the dialysis treatment. My sister XXXXXXX is in grave danger her life hangs in the balance and i want to help my sister XXXXXXX I live in Los Angeles CA and my sister XXXXXXX is in a care facility in Irvington New XXXXXXX she says that they don't have her on any pain management just a Tylenol tablet she at this point to her knowledge has no treating physician to come visit with her or inquire about her pain level from 1 thru 10 she just laying there in agony. So my question is what can i suggest as her sister to the care facility Administration in charge of her health welfare to put my sister XXXXXXX on pain management therapy As soon as possible like today! until I can take the necessary steps to relocate XXXXXXX out here to California where there are more treatment's available to prolong my sister Jewel's life she will be 60 year's old October 11th I feel her edging away due to neglect or in her mind she's being neglected and in pain?

Brief Answer:
Tramadol is good option

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to 'Ask me Doctor' service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I think tramadol will be safe option till you take her to better facility.

Give her tramadol 100 mg. If repeat dose is needed, give 100 mg after 12 hours.

Remember do not give it more than 200 mg / day.

Hope I have answered your question.
