Brief Answer:
HDL is the good cholesterol and the rest are bad cholesterol- detailed interpretation on your cholesterol blood levels below

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to "Ask a Doctor" service,

I carefully read your query and also checked the uploaded test report.

General information:
HDL- cholesterol is the GOOD cholesterol (this is cholesterol bound with proteins that transport cholesterol from the tissues to the liver to be broken down, thus, they are called good cholesterol).
Non- HDL cholesterol is the so-called BAD cholesterol- this is because this kind of cholesterol is bound with proteins that send cholesterol from the liver to the tissues, thus increasing the risks due to cholesterol presence in tissues, especially blood vessels.

Non- HDL cholesterol is made of LDL and some cholesterol bound with triglycerides (another type of fat in the blood).

Explanation of the cholesterol levels in your case:
1. You have very good levels of HDL-cholesterol (the good cholesterol) which in your case is 61 (it should be over 40).
2. Your total cholesterol is 212 while the norm is considered under 200. You are considered borderline high as your total cholesterol is under 239. It is considered high only if it is 240 or over. In your case, because you have high good cholesterol this adds to high total cholesterol as well, so the total cholesterol in itself should not be worrisome to you. For example, if you had HDL 45, your total cholesterol would be 196 (under 200=normal).
3. As for the bad cholesterol and especially LDL: the desired level of LDL is under 100 but yours is considered near normal (100-129). Values 130-159 are borderline high and values 160 and over are considered high.

In conclusion:
- you have very good levels of good cholesterol with a near-normal level of bad cholesterol (very slightly higher than the norm)
- your total cholesterol would be normal if you did not have high good cholesterol so it is nothing to worry in your case

I hope this answers your query and is helpful to you. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
