Brief Answer:
There are tests with varying sensitivity and specificity

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing in to us.

COVID tests are of different types and show varying sensitivity and specificity. This is the commonest reason for people not testing positive even with active COVID infection.

There are 2 types the rapid test and RTPCR test. The RTPCR test is more accurate. it will help to know which test was done for you.

It is possible that you are still not having the infection phase or asymptomatic.

Please get a repeat test RTPCR done if you get symptoms.
