Brief Answer:
As explained below.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to "Ask A Doctor"

I have gone through the details and understand your concern. The main cause for your prolonged periods is due to hormonal imbalance leading to thicked endometrium and fibroid.

I suggest you go for fibroid reducing treatment such as Gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist or Progestin releasing IUD. This will help shrink the size of fibroid and also regularise the hormone levels, in turn, reducing bleeding.

Meanwhile, You can take Tab. Pause MF which is taken as 500 mg in the initial dose and followed by 250 mg once every 6 hours depending on the flow. This is a prescription medicine and should be taken under a guidance of gynecologist.

For more definite treatment, in your case, you can go for fibroidectomy or total hysterectomy and supplement with hormone replacement therapy.

I hope this helps. Please feel free to discuss further.

Brief Answer:
As explained below.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Usually, it takes a 3-day course of twice daily dosage to stop the bleeding. I suggest you wait for another 3 days.

If you are not finding relief then you will have to visit your gynecologist to discuss the various other methods I mentioned previously. You may have to go for a D & C to stop the bleeding followed by some hormonal pills.

I hope this helps. Please feel free to discuss further.
