Question: my son XXXXXXX is 8 years old yesterday we had his full body checkup in which TSH has come on higher value of 7.18. please advise report is attached for reference

This is first time i came to know about his TSH is hight.
Weight: 37.5 & Height: 129 cm (4'2). From last 6 months his weight is increasing (it was vary from 30-33) even when his diet is very low and physical workout is high (Cycling & Swimming). His height is also not incresing last year it was 4'1 now its 4'2.
Last year in Dec he was suffered with typhoid fever.
Blood suger level is normal.
Daily he complaints about his legs pain, Vitamin D is reported less - 19.3
our family doc give Uprise D3 Syrup and Throxin 25 for TSH.

Thanks for the reports.

Sorry for the delay in my response

I have gone through the reports.

Growing children do need good amount of thyroid hormone, any level of TSH more than 5.5 is considered needing treatment.

Do continue the Thyroxin 25mg and keep checking the TSH at regular intervals of 6 months. The treatment can be stopped when the TSH goes below 1, if not continuing the treatment is necessary.
