Question: please check my throid homone this is my result of my first two tests ..the first was last year while the seconf was just 3days ago

please check my thyroid hormone tests ,this has got me very worried

i am only 23years and i think this has raised my prolactine level ,please take a look at my two tests one last year while the second one was just 3days ago and the result came out today

I have gone through your query and the reports.

Yes, in one of the reports TSH level is high ( 12 mui/ ml) and it may the cause of high prolactin.
You need to start treatment with levothyroxine (if you are not already under treatment) and recheck TSH, prolactin after 6 weeks.

If prolactin persists high, even when TSH is corrected, then an MRI of the pituitary gland should be performed to rule out prolactinoma.

P.S. these suggestions are useful if you have not been lactating during the last 2 years.

thanks for the previous response ,also i have nasal congestion and slight mouth odour when i wake up in the morning,feel mucus in my throat but the mucus is very low and doesnt show up

it has a very salty taste,i feel very tired most times even when i wake,can this be related to hyper throidism ?

also what is the possibility of curing my high TSH without surgery

i have never taken any medication,i am about to meet a doctor next week for this

i have felt the symptoms for over 5years now,i never had any visible lump or noticable discomfort on my neck

i look very fit and masculine ,no breast because i hit he gym heavy and i have my abs on ,very masculine

might my condition be mild?

is my testesterone too low for a 23years old according to the result?

Hi again,
High TSH is suggestive for hypothyroidism, not hyperthyroidism and it is treated with thyroid hormone replacement not surgery.
Yes, the testosterone level is low for your age and may be caused by high prolactine or high TSH, so first TSH should be corrected, than after 6 weeks recheck TSH, prolactine and testosterone.
The symptoms you described are due to high TSH and low testosterone.

thank you so much ,if i treat it and get cured will i need to continue medication for the rest of my life or can i get apermanent cure thriugh rhyroid homone replaement

Hi again,
Usually the cause of high TSH is Hashimoto thyroiditis, a chronic autoimmune disease that needs lifelong replacement therapy with levothyroxine.
Your physician will confirm Hashimoto thyroiditis by checking the antibodies and will inform you further about the duration of treatment.
If the cause of high prolactine is hypothyroidism than it will be corrected within 6 weeks of treatment.

Hi,

Once Levothyroxine is started, the thyroid hormone will need a couple of months to get corrected until you find the proper dose, but of course, the treatment is efficient.

Loss of appetite may be related to it.

also as i have had this issue for long without recieving any form of treatment,what are the possibilities of getting cured once i start recieving treatment ,i am very happy for your kind approach as this has helped me alot to identify my problem and would be visiting the doctor first thing monday morning

also i expirience loss of appetite
