I know it is difficult to estimate without the full ct, so what is showing is the portal vein? Before it enters the liver? Does there appear to be any dilation in your opinion? I dont know if you can see all my previous posts but i am about 90 percent sure that i have some kind of stenosis portal, hepatic, ivc vein...its been 2 years of dealing with ruq pain....i get bloated in the day and with activity...venous insufficiency in the abdomen?, when i lay down....i feel...squirt squirt from my liver..and the bloating resolves. It is very consistent.
Brief Answer:
No features of portal hypertension
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing back to us.
The portal vein is mildly prominent does not look significant.
The liver in the image is normal.
I did read your previous queries and it points to small bowel hypermotility and it can cause the bowel related symptoms experienced by you including what you mention as the squirting of the liver.
The portal vein, IVC and hepatic veins are part of the circulation and there is no obvious enlargement of the spleen or any perisplenic collaterals to confirm portal hypertension.
Lying down eases the bloating in some individuals due to the gas in the bowels being spread out. The squirt of the liver and portal is not something that you can appreciate. It is likely the movement of gas that gives the squirt.
