Query Regarding Abnormalities I Reports. Hi Doctor, I Have A
Question: query regarding abnormalities i reports.
Hi doctor, I have a recent issue with with my microalbumin levels. 6 months ago everything was normal. but i started taking isotretinoin for acne. 2 months into medication, i got tested and saw that protien and albumin in urine were 2+ and microalbumin was 320mg/L.
I was suggested to stop the medicine and i stoppped it and got tested 2 months later.
protien and abumn in urine are now just 1+ but microalbumin is at 390 mg/L. do you think I have my kidney damaged? are they are tests you'd suggest? kindly advice.

Brief Answer:
Microalbumin in urine is unlikely to be due to Isotretinoin .
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for query .
Based on the facts and reports that you have uploaded Microalbumin in urine that you have been detected to have is unlikely to be due to side effects of Isotretinoin that you have been taking for ACne. Isotretinoin is not known to have side effect of on kidneys.
This could be taken as a coincidence and have to investigate further to rule out any early Kidney disease .
I would suggest to consult qualified General Physician or Nephrologist for further evaluation and assessment .
Microalbuminurea does get back to normal levels after appropriate treatment .
Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions,I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.
