This seems to be a post-viral cough and is suggestive of healing of the viral infection. Kindly let me know details of cough like any sound while breathing, mucous production while coughing, any difficulty in breathing, any vomiting, etc. Report of chest X ray PA view.
If it is whooping cough, then antibiotics like bactrim or azithromycin are needed.
Otherwise we need to take measures to control the cough. Following medicines are needed:
- syrup Ascoril-C 2.5 ml two times a day for cough control
- strepsil lozenges as and when needed. These have local antiseptic action also
- Warm fluids like kahwa green tea that has some medicinal properties
- syrup salbutamol whenever needed for difficulty in breathing upto 3-4 times a day.
