Severe Lower Abdominal Pain , Fever , Shakes, Green And

Question: severe lower abdominal pain, fever, shakes, green and yellow runny diarrhea. over the past 5 days he has taken RESQ Quik, imodium and pepto bismol. it has slowed the diarrhea down and the consistency of the stool keeps changing. sometimes it will be a greenish yellow liquid with green and dark flakes in it like he has eaten greens, which he has not. some times it look almost like sand with dark specs in it, small chunks. The pains do ease off shortly after taking the OTC meds. he has been drinking a lot of sugar-free gatorade to replenish his electrolytes. sometimes he has nausea but more than anything are the severe sharp pains in the lower intestine. he barely eats, soups, mashed potatoes, 2 or 3 bites of a thin pork chop, because every time he eats, in a matter of minutes the sharp pains hit and he goes to the bathroom. These symptoms started after completing a 7 day regiment of an antibiotic for a chest cold he couldn't shake, I believe it was augmentin. he had also eaten the day before some shrimp fried rice with a pork roll, so we are not sure. he is out of state working so seeing his regular physician is out of the question and there are no urgent care places near where he is. any ideas?

Brief Answer:
Changes in intestinal flora.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your query and here is my advice.

Taking count of his symptoms and of his previous history of using augmentine it seems that the situation comes as a result of imbalance in intestinal flora. Using augmentine may have changed the intestinal flora and this gives the diarrhoea, the stools are pale green or yellow with flakes because of fast intestinal transit which leaves the food undigested.
I xanthelasma suggest him to take probiotics such enterogermina found otc in pharmacy. Also he can take loperamide or simethicone.
Also he may need tresol to replace the lost liquids and electrolytes.
Also he may need to eat toasted bread or sticks.
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
