Since Last 2 Days, I Have A Boil-like On The

Question: since last 2 days, I have a boil-like on the side of my chin due to this , about 2 inches radius of the surrounding skin has become hardened and swollen. if i move my jaw (like while talking or eating) it is slightly painful.

Hello and welcome to ask a doctor service. I have gone through your query and noted your concern.

You seem to have developed furumcle which is skin infection about the hair follicle with cellulitis. I suggest you to take an oral antibiotic e.g either amoxicilin and clavulanate combination (500mg +125mg) or cephalexin 500mg, three times a day for a week. In addition I suggest you to take an oral anti-inflammatory e.g ibuprofen 400mg twice a day for a week. These are prescription medications.

Dear Doctor,

Thank you for your advice. Have been taking medicines. The 2-inch radius is now slightly smaller to 1-inch radius, but this area is hardening up. Every day pus is also oozing out.

Please advice further.
