Hi there

Thanks for the query

Was there any trauma to the knee?

Any fever, inability to stand on the affected leg or redness of the knee?

Why and by whom was the medicine prescribed?

There could be many causes for knee swelling like infection or arthritis. It would be best to find out more about the knee swelling and need to do blood tests like full blood count, Rheumatoid factor and CRP to look for any infection or arthritis.

Please provide me the above information for me to be in a better position to help you.

Regards,

Aashish Raghu

Hi

Thanks for your reply.

The images attached are extremely poor quality and cannot be read at all.

It looks like inflammatory arthritis.

This would need Rheumatologist treatment. It could be Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.

Other than steroids Methotrexate may be helpful which may be prescribed by a Rheumatologist.

Hi

Thanks for the reply

Unfortunately I am unable to prescribe medicine doses especially for such medicines which are not over the counter medicines. Since sacroiliac joints are not involved then it is not Ankylosing spondylitis at this time.

It is best to consult an experienced Rheumatologist who will be able to prescribe the required medication.

Hi

It is best you consult a Rheumatologist for the best treatment possible. If you are in XXXXXXX you can go to St.Johns Hospital or Sakra Hospital.

Methotrexate is a good drug for treatment but it cannot be started without Rheumatologist advice as it has side effects.

Saaz may not be needed if Methotrexate works.
