Question: sir while travelling along with my family we suffered accident and my daughter had a hit on her backside of head ; but at the moment she didnot complain anything because she was able to stand up and move independently with no other injuries. after 2-3 hours or so she complained about pain on back side of her head and she was diagnosed as migrane after consulting neurologist at apollo hospital XXXXXXX as she had no other visible injuries on her head . she has been prescribed with tryptomer 10mg half tablet each day for 10 days . but she was complaining of frequent mild head aches and sometimes sudden pain on different parts of her head during different moments. again we consulted the doctor(neurologist) and the doctor prescribed tryptomer 10mg (full) for 2 months without stopping in between . she is having good sleep (even otherwise she sleeps well since her childhood) and there is no complain of head ache now. but she is complaining of memory loss of studied subjects , she is thinking that because of this tablet she is loosing memory. otherwise she is ok in all respects. she is studying M.TECH AEROSPACE ENGG. kindly give your opinion or suggestion in this regard sir. thanking you,
lakshmanaprasad AN (father).

Brief Answer:
Tryptomer is unlikely to cause memory loss.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I am Dr Sudhir Kumar, Neurologist, and would try my best to help you.

I have noted your daughter's clinical details. Tryptomer is commonly used for treating muscle tension headaches and milder forms of migraine. It is fairly safe and the most common side effect is sleepiness. Memory loss is unlikely to be due to that.
