Question: the strangesr thing%E2%80%94coincidence%E2%80%94 has happened. April 1- 2019, I arrived in Ponce PR. The second day, I became ill with symptoms of diverticulitis. (see my history please). Although Cscan indicated no diverticulitis, each doctor continued treating me for it. I would feel better until antibiotics were finished plus a week or so. I had a colonoscopy around September and a polyp was removed. Although the surgeon said the polyp could not have caused the symptoms, the symptoms completely disappeared! I came to San XXXXXXX Puerto Rico on November 13. First two days I felt great. Yesterday I was tired and had a headache. During last night and today, the symptoms of diverticulitis have come back. The burning is where my ovaries once had been and the sharp pains in my lower left side of abdomen are so painful that I double over. Right now I am in bed and the pain is lighter. I am taking amoxicillan for a sinus infection but have never had a side effect from it in the past.

No fever. Friday afternoon, I had watery loose stool that hit me very quickly without cramps and no warning. I only ate a blueberry muffin rest of day. Saturday morning stool was chunky and blueberries were passed. Saturday afternoon stool was not solid but not loose. Appetite since Friday is good but I can only eat small amounts (about half of my meals) before I feel full. I am not bloated. I am staying well hydrated with water. On Wednesday, I limited my beverages to avoid urinating on plane and my feet and ankles swelled a little. Swelling went away about an hour after the flight.
I hope this info is adequate. If not, please let me know. Thanks

Brief Answer:
Amoxicillin may have caused it.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear and thank you for asking.
I don't believe that this is much related to polyps or diverticulitis.
I think this no much serious (related to a certain disease). I believe it can be related to amoxicillin usage. It can give diarrhoea, abdominal and stomach pain.
The fact that colonoscopy removed the polyp and showed no other change in large intestine also supports the idea that the cramping and diarrhoea may have been from amoxicillin usage.
