Brief Answer:
Subungual hematoma likely

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service.
I have gone through your query and reviewed the image.

This dark spot is most likely a subungual hematoma. Sudden onset and preceding history of pedicure which is the most likely reason for trauma to the nail bed are factors in favor of subungual hematoma.

This should resolve on its own in a few weeks.

Hope I have answered your question...

Brief Answer:
Subungual hematoma

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

A melanoma usually involves the proximal nail fold whereas a subungual hematoma usually spares it. Moreover a short history of onset and history of trauma or pedicure typically precedes a sub lingual hematoma.

Take care.

Brief Answer:
Regarding acral melanoma and subungual hematoma

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
A subungual hematoma is many a times a source of confusion in a patient with acral melanoma and vice versa. But careful consideration of the history is usually sufficient in differentiating between the the two. Moreover, the spot shifts distally on observation over the next few weeks in case of subungual hematoma. You can maintain a photographic record of the spot where you click a photograph of it every week for the next few weeks.
Take care.
