Brief Answer:
Physiotherapy does help

Detailed Answer:
Hi I am Dr Gopal Goel Orthopedic Surgeon.
You want a second opinion whether physiotherapy is required for severe low back pain.
In my clinical practice , Physiotherapy does play an important role in treating back patients- one by reducing the muscle spasm and thereby by reducing the pain and second by strengthening muscles to reduce recurrence.
So in my opinion you should go for physiotherapy.
Thanks for the question. I hope to have answered your question. Please feel free to ask any other question.
