Question: what is the difference between the flashes i would see for pvd versus those seen for retinal detachment?

In pvd usually flashes are not seen

Hey thanks for the question . In a pvd flashes are usually not seen and if present they will not stay for more than few days . But even in PVD you need to go for an urgent retinal examination as without it nobody will know whether you have a retinal break or not . If present it can be easily sealed with laser thus avoiding further complications . Hope my answer helps you . Regards

Hey thanks for the follow up question . Yes I have heard patients describing floaters like that . Its a relief to know that your retina is okay and well lasered . No worries then just ignore these floaters and you wont even notice them after few days . Hope it helps

thanks for the response. my retinas have been lasered all the way around and examined multiple times while this presented and in all cases no abnormalities were found. its less a flash and more a ball of light that slowly works its way around then goes away like a XXXXXXX lamp. have you heard if this this?
