Brief Answer:
Some more information is needed on the pain- some explanations below

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to "Ask a Doctor" service,

I carefully read your query and here is my advise.

There are several possible causes of pain in the arm and shoulder. These may vary from muscular or joint-related pains to neurological conditions or diseases of inner organs.

To better assist you, kindly let me know of the following:
- what do you exactly mean right side? Is this the right side of the body? Is the leg affected as well?
- for how long has she had the symptoms?
- what makes the pain worse? (moving the arm or shoulder or moving the body, breathing, touching)
- does she also feel any numbness or weakness in the arm or other areas?
- any neck pain?
- any abdominal pain, chest pain, local rash, fever or any other complaints?
- has she tried any pain killers and do they help?
- has she had any trauma or falls?

If the pain is worse on touch or when she moves very likely it is due to muscles and bones in the area (joints included).
If the pain is not affected by touch or movement then other structures may be responsible (nerves or inner organs).

I hope to hear from you soon with the additional necessary information.
I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Regards,
Antoneta Zotaj,
