Question: The minute I eat foods containing tamarind, vinegar, sour lime, dahi or Kokum (especially when I visit Goa and return to Mumbai) for more than 2-3 days, I develop my sinus condition with low grade fever of 99.7. Besides inhalation with Karvol, what should I take??

Brief Answer:
Detailed answer below.

Detailed Answer:
Hi ,
* It seems you have tendency to react to certain foods... your nasal/throat mucus membrane gets irritated with the sour substances you had mentioned. The Goan food preparations do have these invariably.
While the irritation is there..& you are in open nature with fresh air,you breath in Goa..Also.
You must be going for site seeing while the stay...so have sufficient exertion..these environmental factors do not allow infection/viral or bacterial to settle in.So you can combat the symptoms in Goa.
Once you enter XXXXXXX with crowded ,polluted &humid atmosphere...with mild irritation catched in Goa....in no time the pathogenic organism can settle in your systems to cause inflammation, infection & fever.
* In such condition..you should avoid the sour things (which directly irritate ) in food./Do hot saline gargles after having them.
-Do breathing exercises regularly in fresh air with least pollusion(eg...early morning on terrace .
-Try drinking 1/2 spoon of Emblica (Amla)powder&half the quantity of Termeric powder in a glass of hot water, first thing in morning.(this would help in building up resistance&avoiding allergy)
-Cultivate a habit of doing saline gargles & inhaling vapor daily.
-You can take Levocetrizine at bed time apart from regular prevention..while being exposed to the notorious things.
*For a long term prevention you can test for allergy screening &get desensitisation therapy ...Consult an Allergy specialist.
I hope that helps you Any follow up query is welcome.
Thanks
