What To Follow Now As There Is A Chance Of Bleeding ?
Question: Hi Doctor, my father had AV(in year 2002) and MV( 2014) replacement with mechanical values, doctors advised to take acitorm 2mg, 3mg in alternative days and ecosprin 75mg daily.. recently we visited other cardiologist for regular check up, he advised to us stop ecosprin 75mg but cardiac surgeon suggested to have ecosprin 75mg from long back since 2002.. please provide some advice what to follow now as there is a chance of bleeding ? Whether we need to continue ecosprin ? or continue acitorm plus ecosprin as usual ?
Brief Answer:
Aspirin should be continued
Detailed Answer:
Since the patient had double valve replacement, Aspirin should be continued with Acitrom to prevent clot formation. Please also provide history of any bleeding tendency like gum bleed or piles problem in the past. Take care.
