Brief Answer:
Hi,

Detailed Answer:
In smaller children-less than 2 years, the wax of ears is often of yellow, orange or brown color. In smaller children this tends to be of light, soft & delicate texture, which may become of dense & hard in texture upon drying.Normally in small children this is very much normal & does not require any treatment except frequent cleaning from outside. Never try to clean it with Q tips or ear drops.
Wet a wash cloth with warm water. It should not be too hot to touch ,rather it should be soothing to touch.Squeeze it properly to drain the excessive water,so that water does not go into ears. Now wipe the outer ear by gently rubbing with the wash cloth & clearing visible wax with it. Never put the wash cloth inside the ear.I think,I have answered your querry.Any further querry will be welcomed.

Brief Answer:
Hi,

Detailed Answer:
In infants, ear wax may some times be bothersome, but it is normal physiological response of body. Even presence of ear wax may be beneficial to the infant,as it may act as a barrier against water in the ear of infant.Even most of the times, ear infections resolve on its own including middle ear infections with effusion due to personal immunity.
Therefore,in my opinion, usually no ear drop should be used in infants, except in very rare & unusual cases only under guidance of your doctor after proper otological visualisation of ear canal & tympanic membrane. Hope, this gives reply to your querry.
