Brief Answer:
The amount and the duration are the most important factors

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome in Ask a doctor

Usually we expect blood in the mucus in bronchectasis patient. It is not related with the antibiotic use.The most important thing is that it should be small in amount and short in duration. So if it is for more than 2 days and especially fresh red blood you should talk with your pulmonologist as soon as possible.

However I would recommend you to attach me the chest CT if you have already done it and I will help you better again.

Hope to have been helpful

Regards and feel free to ask me again

- the blood is too much and the whole phlegm is bloody no other color mixed.
- I only mentioned antibiotic because I was so sick with no bloody mucus and finished only 19 days ago. So Why my symptoms is showing up again in short period.
- How long should I be okay after treating with antibiotic
- My last CT was in XXXXXXX 2019 no repeated CT yet.
- Beside blood I have a pain in my back and leg / headache for 3 days.

Please let me know.

Hello again

The coming back of blood it's not a good sign. It tells us that the vessels of the bronchial mucosa are damaged and especially in bacterial superimposed situation.I don't think you need more antibiotics. Regarding them only blood tests of inflammation CRP and Procalcitonin results show if you need more treatment. If they are negative than no more antibitics
Nevertheless it depends on the kind spread and stage of bronchiectasis you have and this is because I need to see the chest CT.

Despite of the above if the blood amount is large than better to talk with your doctor or to go to ER department.

No hot liquids around these days and try to have a normal arterial hypertension.
