With Almost 30 Hrs Of Thoracic Out Let Surgeries 2012
Question: with almost 30 hrs of thoracic out let surgeries 2012 1013 the L thoracic duct was cut under jugular leaking into subclavian vein. After a 13 hr surgery two days later returned to surgery with chyle leak they sutured w/ 3 sutures. Now a healthy weight with deep nerve block w/ neurologist traveling to see next week in XXXXXXX XXXXXXX for 8 days after briefly on my knees to pull a few weeds I have had severe swelling of upper L leg and knee painful and dimpled and ubic area painful too... could there be a leak this long after ? both knees are hurting slight swelling on r bu t L far worse feet are starting to swell an ankle. I have had issues with my eating keeping my nutrition up and a auto immune concern is being discussed... I am really wondering if a lymph leak from original thoracic duct injured....
I don't see an answer and as complicated as this is, can i get a helpful answer. i'm very concerned

Swelling of lower limbs can be due to many causes like Lymphoedema, Cellulitis,Deep Vein Thrombosis etc
As you had surgery previously for Chyle leak,we cannot confirm it to be the cause now.
Unless investigated,we cannot come to a Kidney disease,Liver disease and Heart problems can also cause Edema.
Ultrasound of the Lower limbs and Abdomen will give a clue. Colour Doppler will exclude Deep vein thrombosis of the lower limbs.
Chances of leak is a remote possibility.
Nothing to worry.
