It is not a serious problem.
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for posting your query.
I am Dr Sudhir Kumar, Neurologist, and I would try my best to help you.
I have noted your clinical details. Based on this, the most likely diagnosis is benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), an inner ear problem. It improves in most people within a week with medicines as already advised the doctor. In some cases, ENT consultation may be needed, if symptoms continue.
Only in rare cases, if there are additional symptoms, such as imbalance while walking, or double vision, or difficulty in speaking or swallowing food, we may have to do brain scan.
I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.
Wishing you good health,
Dr Sudhir Kumar MD (Internal Medicine), DM (Neurology) XXXXXXX Consultant Neurologist
