1 Month Old Baby, Swallowing Saliva While Sleeping, Getting Choked. Taking Maxtra Drops. Any Side Effects?

Hi,
My daughter is just 1 month old. Sometimes during her sleep while swallowing the saliva in her mouth it is probably getting chocked in her throat and she is unable to breath properly for few minutes.doctor has given maxtra drops. Can you please tell me how will it help and does it has any side effetcs.
Are there any other alternative to avoid this problem.
