Hi,
Thank you for your query,
Encopresis is an elimination disorder .
In most children with encopresis the underlying primary abnormality may be chronic constipation with fecal impaction and fecal retention.
Many children with encopresis present with abnormal anal sphincter function documented by rectal sphincter physiologic studies like electormyography and defecating a rectal balloon.
The treatment of this condition is clearance of impacted fecal material, short term use of laxatives and adding high dietary fiber to diet to prevent further constipation and behavior management.
This problem comes under mental illnesses, and consult your Pediatrician to know whether it comes under disability according to your country health policy.
Hope i have answered your query.
