Hi,

Thank you for your query.

I can understand your concern about the fever. It shall take some time for the fever to come down and both Calpol amd Medtal P are to reduce the temperature and not to control it. If the fever persists for another day or two then only will the doctor decide to do a blood test.

It is common for the head to remain warmer than the rest of the body. You may like to go through the blog on this issue at http://vardaan.net/blog/?p=23.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your son an early recovery.

Welcome to HCM.
Your doctor is giving right treatment but it is only symptomatic treatment.High grade fever suggest some active infection and for that you have to start proper antibiotic like amoxy/clavulinic syp. under guidance of his doctor.
Go for certain investigation like cbc, urine and x-ray chest to rule out diagnosis and proper treatment.
