If the fall is on the floor from his standing posture, it might not be a significant one. But if he has fallen from a table or bench, its worthy to have a word with a doctor.
Do you see any swelling in that area of his head? Does he cry on touching that area? Did you see any ear or nose bleeds? If yes, please see your doctor.
Usually vomiting associated with head injuries is a forceful one and not associated with nausea.
And yes vomiting can happen due to many other reasons as simple as overfeeding.
So observe him carefully. If he develops further episodes do not hesitate to contact a doctor.

A head injury should always be viewed with caution. If your child has sustained a head injury you need to observe for certain warning signs that may indicate an underlying brain injury. The signs are as follows:
1. Sudden onset of vomiting
2. Drowsiness
3. Abdominal distension
4. Bleeding from any site
5. Convulsions or fits
If any one of the above conditions is present, it is prudent to get a CT scan of the head.

Also running the hand over the head can help you ascertain if there is any flattened area which may indicate an underlying skull fracture.

So if your child has vomited and continues to do so, kindly get him evaluated with your Pediatrician.

It could just be a simple thing from food...
But vomiting in the background of hit on the head (fall) is a matter of concern. The child MUST BE EXAMINED BY A DOCTOR - preferably Neurologist - to exclude intra-cranial injury or bleeding. It may turn out to be nothing - but examination is a must. Better to be safe than sorry
