Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
This is Srinivas from Hyderabad. My 16+ months baby girl is passing tight stools from 2 days where she cries out of pain every time and sometimes bleeds. And for your information my daughter had an operation for imperforate anus in her age of 4th month. We are suspecting that she is having this motion problem because of that operation only. Kindly clarify this and also suggest/give medication to overcome this motion problem.

Hi Srinivas, Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic. Passing of hard stools with pain and bleeding is due to constipation which is mostly related to her diet intake. It seems not related to her operation that is done for her imperforate anus as it started recently and in between she was normal. I advise you to give dietary fiber rich foods to improve the constipation. Dietary fiber is present in fruits, vegetables. Give plenty of water to drink. And still motions are hard you can give an oral stool softener like lactulose in prescribed dose. Hope I have answered your query. Regards. Dr E Venkata Ramana, Pediatrician, Hyderabad.
