21 Month Baby, Had A Cut While Playing, Light Bleeding. Taken Pentaxim Shot In March, Should I Take Tetanus Shot?

Hi
my daughter is 21 months of age (DOB - 20th Sept 2011)
she has taken the 1st Booster shot (Pentaxim) on 24th March 2013
she had a cut while playing yesterday and she fell on the road.
her knees bled a little
my query is do I need to worry for the tetanus shot, as she has already taken the Pentaxim shot on 24th March?

Hi,

Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.

As she is up to date for her routine vaccination, tetanus shot is not required now.

Pentaxim contains tetanus toxoid component so further tetanus shot is not required.

But take care of the wound to prevent the secondary infection.

You can apply a povidone iodine containing cream like betadine ointment application to prevent the infection of wound.
