3 Year Old Having Nose Bleed And Swelling After A Fall. Need Treatment?
My 3 year old son slipped and fell flat on his face on a hard wood floor. His nose started bleeding right away. The top of his forehead is read and the tip of his nose looks swollen. Could his nose be broken? Bleeding pretty much stopped, but he has a runny nose, so there is still some blood dribbling out with his runny nose.

Your child seems to have head injury with nasal bone injury.
Running nose after injury to face is due to leakage of CSF from the fracture of cribriform plate.
Consult emergency along with the child immediately for the examination and investigation with CT scan brain.

It is best to rule out a fracture first. Please visit an ER at the earliest. Although primary concern would have been to stop the bleeding, as this has almost completely stopped, proper visualization of the nasal passage along with a PNS x-ray would be mandatory. Clinical correction would be required. Once a fracture is ruled out, a nasal pack could be applied to control bleeding.
