my kid is three years old . last week he got an throat infection acute tonsilitis and had fever for almost 6 days. pediatrician treated him with antibiotic augmentin for 10 days, once we started that antibiotic his stool has become loose.... this is the fifth of his antibiotic course today i have seen a tiny blood clot in his stool..... what can be done know...? is it a serious problem to look after????
Hi thanks for your query at HCM put salinase nasal drops in nostrils generally antibiotics are not recommended for loose motions but continue them for tonsillits you should give him extra fluid and ORS , monitor his hydration status if there is any blood or fever or child starts vomit every thing then immediately visit you doctor
change his diaper after every loose stool how much urine he is passing continuous follow up to your gastroentrologist is necessary for 2nd line of investigations i will be available for your help wishing you a speedy recovery take care regards Dr. Imran Hussain
