45 Years Old Social Drinker With Intermittent Hypertension With Dizziness, Tachycardia, Chest Pain. All Cardiac Tests Normal

45 year old male, non smoker, social drinker, not overweight, fit up to May - symptoms include intermittent hypertension associated with dizzyness, light headedness, episodes of tachycardia, chest pain, at times there is difficulty catching ones breath. All cardiac tests are NAD CXR, ECG, Echo, Angiogram, Holter monitering, Electrophysiological tests. No diagnosis has been made CT Thorax, Abdomen and Pelvis are normal, as are all bloodwork, PTH levels normal. Symptoms seem to be getting more frequent and are having a major impact on quality of life - where can the answer lie??????????

Dear user
Alcohol abuse is a frequent contributor to elevated blood pressure and may be the most common cause of secondary hypertension. The mechanism of this association is unknown. In most cases, the blood pressure elevations are reversible and return to normal upon discontinuation of alcohol use. Even though transitory, such hypertension cannot be considered benign, or inconsequential, since it may be contributory to the increased prevalence of cardiovascular disease observed in problem drinkers.
