49 Yrs Old Female Has Developed Sudden Tailbone Pain. What To Do ?
Am anasuya F49 2children aged 23 and 16.Have developed sudden tailbone pain (maybe after a bumpy bus ride.) for the last 7 days. Pain while sitting, bending down.On Voveron 100mgSR (1 daily) for 1 week. Some relief.Xrays show coccygeal vertebra anteriorly deviated, fracture at lower end of sacrum and 1st vertebra. What to do ?
Tail bone fracture happens due to a bumpy ride like you had .The treatment depends on severity of symptoms and so if pain relief medications dont suffice , surgery can be opted.A higher dosage or a combination of various analgesics may be needed in your situation.I advise you to see your Orthopedician and explain him the persisting symptoms and discuss the option s like injection of a steroid o lignocaine at the sacrum and surgery.
Please avoid stress on your tailbone by not sitting continuously and by using a cushion. Please take soft diet to avoid constipation which can happen secondary to pain.
Take care.
