5 Month Old Baby Having Green Colored Stool. Stool Tests Shows Presence Of Mucus And Rbc Count Around 1-3/HPF. Is This Normal?

My baby just completed 5 months and now his bowel is suddenly green in color and after the stool test we found that there is a presence of mucus. The pus cells and rbc's count was around 1-3 /HPF. We tried to consult our doctor and he says everything is normal. Just wanted to check is this the case with all the babies or if our baby has caught some kind of infection?
Any insights would be of great help!!

Hi Dear
Welcome to the HCM
Please send the stool for culture and sensitivity, If it comes positive to some bacteria , then accordingly child should be treated.
Usually green colored stool are supposed to be infective.

Breast feed exclusively helps in preventing all sort of infection to the baby.
5 Month old baby develops habit of putting fingers in his mouth which is important factor for stomach infection.
Bottle should be boiled every time for at least 10 minutes before every feed.

Breast milk is best for the babies.

Hope the query is answered.

Thanks
