6 Month Son, Diarrhea For 2 Months, Blood In Stool, Weight Loss. Tested Positive For Leukocytes, Negative For Food Allergy

my 6 month old son has had diarrhea for nearly 2 months. I recently noticed blood in the stool and also a weight loss. Our Ped. had us take a stool sample to the lab and he tested neg for c deficil(sp) but positive for leukocytes. We also did a blood draw to check for food allergies and they all came back negative as well. any thoughts?

Hi,
Thank you for asking question on health care magic.
This is a case of persistent diarrhea.
Zn-20 5 ml daily, sporolac one sachet daily and lactose free diet like Zerolac is advised
Energy dense feeds like milk with sugar to make up the calories and prevent malnutrition and weight loss
If the stool sample shows >10 pus cell/HPF antibiotics are needed to control infection
It is time taking and needs patience and perseverence
