6 Year Kid, White Spots On Tongue, Sore Tongue. What Could Be This? Treatment?

hi, my 6 year old daughter has little white spots on the tip of her tongue and a couple further back. She complained her tongue was sore 2 days ago, i looked and saw nothing, thought she must of bit her tongue.... didnt seem to bother her since, until tonite and she was upset, had a good look and saw the pimply white spots. She is sleeping away fine now, what could this be and are antibiotics the only way to treat it?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.

The white spots on her tongue is due to oral thrush which is a fungal infection.

But some times apthous ulcers may present with whitish slough.

Physical examination is needed to know the problem.

If it is due to oral thrush, local anti fungal application is required.

Therefore consult the doctor for examination and treatment.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards.
