7 Months Baby, One Cheek Bigger Than The Other. Suggestions ?
Hi my baby boy is 7 months now and since birth we noticed that one cheek was bigger than the other. we were told it was just baby fat but it does not seem to be reducing and when you look at him you would think that it is swollen however the doctors we have seen all say the jaw structure seems normal and it the cheek tissue that is big. what would your diagnosis be?
hi
thanks for your query.
your baby has one cheek bigger than the others.
in most of the cases its due to normal baby fat that will be corrected gradually as the age progresses.
another entity is there where congenital hypertrophy occurs in one side of the body but in that case it should not be confined only to the cheek but also it involves unilateral limb, face, gum etc and along with these there will be wilm's tumor of kidney, absence of iris, genitourinary abnormality and mental retardation.
are your baby developmental milestones are normal?
but i dont think your baby is not suffering from that.
but you should consult a good pediatrician to take his opinion.
most probably your baby's problem is physiological. So dont be afraid.
thank you
