7 Year Old, Crying During Bowel Movement, Stomach Pain. Treatment?

Hi Dr,
My 7 year old daughter cries whenever she passes motion.
She complaints of terrible stomach ache. This morning around 2am, she woke up screaming in pain and went to the toilet.

Please advise as to what could be wrong...(just to let you know - her water intake is poor and need advise on how to coax a child to drink plenty of water).

Hello there!
you your self narrated the issue and your self the cause. here comes the parent hood to bribe the kid with different ways to feed and et him have his or her health.

low water intake has increased the colonic transit time and this causing all the pain and trouble.

give her fluids the way she like, could be plain water could be a juice, for spasm of gut muscle some antispasmodics with soft diet will be enough. you have to counsel her. a good parent knows how to do that.

she will be fine. other wise this constipation persistence will lead her to further troubles.
nut shell, plenty of fluids, soft diet, fiber in it, good and healthy bowel habits, good diet, proper sleep and TADA

regards
