7 Years Child. Bowel Movements With Clothes On, Quiet When Urge To Pass Stools. No Medical History. Explain
good day doctor Goo day Doctor Santosh.
I have a 7 year old son and there is something in his behavior which I observed is not normal already for a 7 year old kid. Every time he does bowel elimination he only keeps quiet and never tells me about it no matter how many times I tell him to inform me whenever he has the urge to eliminate. I will only find it out that he has pooped in his pants when I smell something stinky. My son doesn’t have any medical history related to this kind of problem.
Doc, I want to know if this behavior is normal or do I have to worry about this. Could you explain to me why my son behaves like this for me to be able to understand his actions and what shall I do to help my son?

It is very common for children to have regression in behaviour if there is some sort of traumatic event happening in their life which appears to be the case with your son. My advice to you would be to get him examined by his doctor to rule out any physical reason like constipation and then counsel him instead of scolding him. With proper handling of the situation I see no reason why the behaviour will not return to normalcy.

yes this behaviour seems to be normal.it seems you didnot give proper toilet training to your baby when it was supposed to do so,so this behavioural problem has developed.do not scold your child.try to teach him with love and affection.may be you can try like giving some gifts to him when for whole day he does not repeat this behaviour and goes to toilet.deny him with gifts wen he do not do so.but dont scold him plz.get a routine check up done to rule out constiaption in him.
