86 Years. Blood Blister With Bruise And Discoloration On Toe Joint Extending To Foot. Not Broken, No Tenderness. Opinion?
My 86 year old father has a blood blister on top of his second toe. no trauma or discoloration to the top of toe. But, bruising, discoloration from first joint to where it meets his foot. discoloration extends a little into the foot. not tender to touch. does not appear broken, jammed or similar. Does this require ER visit, since over the weekend and no other options. Thoughts?
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. Blood blisters are common in this age group because of skin become loose due to loss of elasticity . May be due to diabetes, hypercholestrolaemia, trauma ( blunt). In my opinion at present no need of E R visit rather consult a physician and get blood for sugar , lipid profile , C B C, ESR. Take care of skin and wash this anti septic solution. Good luck. Dr. HET
