How can a 27 year old single mother, also working full time have a blood pressure that low ? I'm not really sure either, so that's why i'm asking, and hopefully some will answer to this. It's been something that i've questioned about my health for quite some time actually. As i said before i'm 27 years old and have a blood pressure of 101-55 however that is my resting bp rate, and stressed out my blood pressure only goes to about 115/60. Now, here are the odd things about me/ my fam history that have me puzzled...and would like it if someone could help me to figure out. Even though i'm 27 yrs old. i'm female, which typically means stress rate is higher. I'm only 5ft, and i weight 155.5 lbs exactly. I'm not on any prescription medications, nor do i hardely take OTC prescrips other than tylenyol or motrin. As far as stress goes, i'm a single mother to a 7 year old boy, and coaching his baseball team, and i also work in retail. I do smoke cigarrettes regularly, and drink maybe once a week(about 4-5 drinks). Exercise is usually a 1/2 mile walk every other day, or moderate wieght lifting. My mom has high BP. My father has high BP and anxiety disorders, such as panic attacks,, and diabetes. My 1/2 brother has diabetes, gout, high BP and cholestrol. aternal G.mother also, high BP. Maternal G.father is deceased (lived for 30 years after massive stroke). Paternal g. mother has diabetes, low BP, and alzhiemers and my paternal g.father has low bp, parkinsons disease, anxiety disorders, and possibly bi-polar disorder. My son is 7 yrs old, isn't over-weight but what i call "husky" (think linebacker for football) no known med probs other than astma and peanut allergy. During my entire pregnancy, even till time of my son's delivery at which i was 210lbs, i had a 110/59 bp. If anyone, could help me figure this all out that would be great. I'm trying to figure out wether later down the road i'm at risk, or possibly if some my height and wieght is this normal...aparently my doctors love to see my numbers like this...please help me figure this out.....thank you,
